Overview
This Level 2 qualification is for anyone who wants to work as a plumber in the building services engineering sector. You will learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the plumbing sector. It is practical based with classroom theory sessions, so while you learn the key information you will also to put your skills into practise. Studying in our excellent facilities means that you are prepared for your next steps, whether you move onto further study or employment.
Attendance is two evenings per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) or all day Friday for 36 weeks.

What You Will Learn
This course is practical based with classroom theory sessions, so while you learn the key information you will also to put your skills into practise. You will learn about health and safety in building services engineering, central heating systems, drainage systems and common plumbing principles.
Through both practical and theory based learning, this course can prepare you for further study and work in the plumbing and engineering sector.

Entry Requirements
Entry to this course requires a Level 1 qualification in Plumbing.
Please note that you will be required to wear safety boots with steel toe caps and hi-vis vest when working in the College workshops. Prior to enrolment on the course, please make sure you have access to these resources.
Assessment
The course is assessed by practical assessments and online exams for each unit. You will also carry out an assessment which requires you to install a bathroom suite.
Work Experience
Your course may include work experience or a work placement that could lead to the offer of a part-time or casual work, or you might work outside of your studies. Our students benefit from local site visits and trips to construction companies.
Progression
After successful completion of the course, you will be prepared to move into further study or employment in plumbing and construction.
Fees & Additional Costs
If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.
Course fees depend on your age and course level.
You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.
FE Tuition: £2,718.00 per academic year
Exam Registration: £222.00
