This Level 2 course is for you if you are interested in starting a career in Dental Health in a customer facing role, or if you are thinking of becoming a Dental Nurse but are not yet ready to move onto the Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing. This course aims to provide you with a range of essential technical and practical skills, knowledge and relevant work experience. This course is delivered in the NORDEC (Northern Dental Education Centre) at Bradford College. This will equip you to seek employment or further training within the Dental Health industry. Teaching will take place in the College and there will be the opportunity to have work experience in a dental setting.
Course content:
Entry to this course requires GCSE English and Maths at a grade 3 or D. This qualification is suitable for you if you are 16 or older. No previous knowledge or experience in the sector is required. You must be 16-18 to receive a funded place on this programme. English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.
You will be assessed for this course by set tasks and exams.
This course includes work experience which requires that you attend a placement in a dental practice. In order to do this, the General Dental Council’s Covid-19 Vaccine Guidance states that you must have had both of your Covid-19 vaccines and Booster vaccine in order to complete work experience within a dental practice.
Successful completion of this course can lead to progression onto a Level 3 course, further study and employment. Our Dental qualifications provide you with a range of essential, technical and practical skills which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the dental health industry. Once you’ve successfully completed your study programme, you will be ready to pursue a career as a dental support worker, decontamination assistant, dental receptionist, or you could continue onto further training in the Dental Health Industry.
