  Overview

This Level 1 qualification is ideal if you are interested in a career in caring for children. It could also support you with re-engaging with learning and break down barriers to you entering the childcare workforce.

How is it assessed?

This qualification will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board. The course will develop your understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. It covers children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to support with self-development, employability study skills. 


How is this qualification structured?

The Award requires 10 credits.


  Qualification Gained: Northern Council for Further Education Award in Caring for Children

There are no entry requirements for this course apart from an interest in the subject and the ability to commit to positive behaviours and attendance. You will have a 1-1 meeting with a member of our team to ensure it is the right course for you.

If you are 19 years old or over you may need to pay fees for your Further Education studies.

Course fees depend on your age and course level.

You may be exempt from paying fees though, or eligible to pay a reduced fee – known as fee remission.

FE Tuition: £504.00 per academic year
