Overview

The course is ideal If you’d like to enhance your knowledge and capabilities in English language teaching, especially in areas where literacy levels need improvement, such as in Bradford, where the local attainment in English among young people is below the national average. This course will develop your skills to meet entry requirements for a teaching qualification in literacy and ESOL.

This qualification directly supports efforts to raise literacy standards, with a key focus on digital literacy, English Language, and Mathematics.

The course is ideal for PSET (Post-16 Education and Training) trainees, both current and future, as it is fully recognized by The Society for Education and Training (SET) towards achieving QTLS (Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills). Additionally, it provides a valuable bridging opportunity for English specialist PSET students who do not yet hold a Level 3 specialist qualification.

Completing this qualification will significantly enhance your ability to embed English language instruction into your teaching practice, helping you meet the minimum core requirements for their teacher training. The course also includes a substantial online component, making it accessible for regional and national recruitment, and providing flexibility for learners across a wider geographic area.
