Overview

This Adult Computing course will enable mature students to bridge the gap between Level 2 and Level 3; this will allow students to progress on to the level BTEC 3 National Certificate in Computing course. Students will undertake a baseline assessment to establish their starting point. The first part of this bridging programme will a recap of Level 1 with a key focus on core computing concepts and knowledge before moving on to the level 2 topics.

Level 2 Computing can help students take the first steps towards a career in a wide range of sectors such as software development, networking, or business and computing. Students will be taught computing principles and how to put them into practice in the workplace and improve their confidence.

Entry to this course requires a grade 3 GCSE in English Language and Maths or Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Assessment includes assignments, internal exams and practicals.

Successful completion of this course can allow you to progress on to BTEC L3 National Certificate in IT and then onto one of our HNC / HND in Computing or employment.
