Our extensive Garden Mills refurbishment was the result of £5.8m funding received from The Office for Students (OfS) Higher Education Capital Fund with a £1.1m College contribution. We were one of only five institutions nationally to receive the maximum allocation.

Contractor Tilbury Douglas completed the incredible transformation of the derelict 1900s five storey building ready for use from Autumn 2024. Garden Mills now enhances our substantial health science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) facilities, incorporating:

cutting-edge dental facilities
a prep room
six digital IT labs
an ophthalmic dispensing suite
a clinical suite
a real-life work environment with consulting and testing booths
a collaboration area
academic teaching spaces

Today, Garden Mills welcomes a range of higher-level HNC/HND and degree students, including ophthalmic and digital learners, and is set to benefit higher-level apprentices too.
