Bradford College’s Partnership with the Bradford Bulls

The partnership is not only great news for both organisations, but equally the wider Bradford community, with both of us committed to providing life-changing opportunities for all students.

Bradford College and Bradford Bulls Rugby League Football Club have been educational partners since 2022.

Both organisations are committed to transforming the lives of young people in Bradford, so we have a common goal. This latest agreement solidifies our close ties as organisations that are passionate about serving Bradford and beyond.  The partnership uses rugby league as a vehicle to engage with Bradford Communities.

The partnership provides students across the College with benefits such as valuable work experience, stadium tours, discounted tickets and brings players to the College for special guest visits. The partnership supports students across a number of curriculum areas:

The Bulls Foundation

Bulls Foundation‘s Community Outreach Team work with the Bradford College outreach team to share course information, support community visits and provide advice and guidance to young people interested in getting involved in the Club and sports as a career choice.

Sports and fitness

Bulls are the official partner for our Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity – part of our Ambition Hub offering. As part of this, learners attend weekly placements and assist with coaching various sport and physical activity in local schools and other community initiatives.

Textile and fashion students

Bradford School of Art textiles students restored the much-loved Bull Boy mascot in 2024, the design and creation of the new Bull Girl in 2023.

Business students

Two of our Level 3 Business students gained valuable work experience at Bradford Bulls in the summer of 2024, learning about the day-to-day operations of a rugby league club, with a particular focus on social media and communications.

As part of their course, Zac Szepler and Alex Parry were required to complete 30 hours of work experience and jumped at the opportunity of joining the Bulls, organised by Olivia McCormack from our Work Placements Team.  After impressing throughout their placement, both students have been encouraged to continue with their involvement by Commercial Manager, Ian Stafford.

Speaking about Zac and Alex, Ian said: “The two have represented themselves and the College excellently.

They have shadowed Bulls staff from both marketing and media, learning all about what their roles entail and even putting their skills into practice. Hopefully they’ve got lots out of this work experience and as a club, we’ve been delighted to have them.
