  Overview

If you have moved to the UK from another country and would like to continue your education in Britain and you are interested in a career within the IT sector then this course is the perfect course for you. You will spend approximately 16 hours per week in College. If you are 16 to 18 years old you won’t have to pay tuition fees.

During your course you will:
  • Gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the IT sector
  • Develop skills in key IT areas Networks/Web Design/Advanced skills in Spreadsheets and Database
  • Develop and showcase essential skills and attributes prized by employers, further education colleges and higher education
  • Develop skills in key IT areas Networks/Web Design/Advanced skills in Spreadsheets and Database
  • Develop and showcase essential skills and attributes prized by employers, further education colleges and higher education
  • You will also develop your language skills, interpersonal skills, study skills, interview skills, presentation skills and have the opportunity to gain work experience
We will support you with taught sessions, group and individual projects, study-related workshops, enrichment activities and tutorials. You will also have the opportunity to go on field trips during your time in study. You will also work closely with Connexions and the Bradford Centre for Academic Studies. You will study IT along with an ESOL qualification and Employability Skills. You will have a Personal Tutor who will look after your needs and you will take part in an exciting programme of enrichment activities.
  Qualification Gained: City and Guilds of London Institute Certificate in ESOL Skills for Life
You may join this course if your language level is consolidated at Entry Level 3 and you are interested in a career within the IT sector.
On successful completion of the course you will have the opportunity to join a higher computing course within the College. Careers include: IT / Helpdesk Technician/ Web Developer/ Programmer/ Database Analytics/ Software Engineers/ Network Engineers
