Skills you’ll develop:  

  • Basic Car Maintenance – Learn how to change tyres, trims, exhausts, oil, lamps and repair punctures. 
  • Diagnostic Skills – Understand how to spot problems and figure out what’s wrong with a vehicle. 
  • Car Tuning and Modding – Discover how to tune and modify cars to run more smoothly and efficiently.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a must have for this course. You will need: 

  • Safety boots and fire-retardant overalls. These will be provided should you meet the conditions of the bursary*

Entry requirements to this course is a Grade 2 in both GCSE Maths and English Language.

For this course, you will complete the following assessments: 

  • One online multiple-choice assessment for each unit  
  • One practical assessment for each unit 

Successful completion of this Level 1 course can lead onto our Level 2 Motor Vehicle course or to an apprenticeship.
