This course is ideal if you are thinking if working within a health and social care setting.
Who is it suitable for?
This level 1 course is suitable for those who are thinking about a career in adult health and social care. This could include working with the elderly, people with disabilities, young people and children and families.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
You are not required to be working in a health and social care setting or to undertake practical placements as part of this course as this is a knowledge based course. – however, we will support you in finding work experience as this will enhance your CV and improve your future job prospects.
The course will cover the type of job roles and services within it, the role of communication and the importance of valuing the individuals being cared for.
How is the qualification structured?
The Award requires 6 credits.
There are no entry requirements for this course apart from an interest in the subject and the ability to commit to positive behaviours and attendance. You will have a 1-1 meeting with a member of our team to ensure it is the right course for you.
It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning. Courses will run at the David Hockney Building. For more information, please email [email protected]
