Kick-start your journey into the world of science with our Foundation T Level: Science course!  

Designed for students who want to develop their knowledge and skills in biology, chemistry, and physics, this course, hands-on experience. You’ll carry out investigations, develop key laboratory techniques, and gain real-world insights through work-related learning.  Successful completion of this course earns you the BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Award in Principles of Applied Science.

By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to take the next step onto the full T Level Science qualification, opening doors to exciting careers in the science industry.

Entry requirements are 5 GCSEs at grade 3, including Maths and English Language.

English and/or Maths will be included in your timetable if you have not achieved a GCSE at grade 4 or above in these subjects when you start your course.

Foundation T Level students will complete 60 hours of work experience where you’ll dive into the world of work and gain the skills employers are looking for. You will:

  • Boost your confidence and learn how to plan tasks, meet deadlines, and make smart decisions.
  • Collaborate with professionals and see how great ideas come to life when people work together.
  • Understand how to maintain a safe and productive work environment.

With this industry placement, you’ll have hands-on experience to showcase on your CV, demonstrating your industry skills to employers.

After completing this Foundation T Level, you’ll be ready to pursue:

  • Progression to our T Level in Science course. 
  • Apprenticeships in Laboratory Technician, Pharmacy and Healthcare.
  • Further study in science-related fields.
