You will be expected to purchase a kit and source clients for assessment. Students will need to commit to two 3 hour twilight/evenings per week and be prepared to complete further independent study.
The course covers a broad range of hairdressing skills and knowledge. It is taught by highly qualified and enthusiastic staff in realistic working environments. Many aspects of hairdressing including cutting, colouring, blow-drying , setting and dressing hair.
You should have an interest in the subject and have achieved a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grade 3/D or above, including GCSE English at a grade 3 and GCSE Maths at a grade 2.
Level 1 qualifications with a minimum of Level 1 in English and Maths are also considered.
You will be assessed on a continual basis. Practical skills will be assessed on paying clients in a realistic working environment. You will also be assessed through online exams.
Successful completion of this course offers progression to a Level 3 NVQ course, or employment.
