Overview

This course is designed for anyone who wants to become a Plumber or Domestic Heating Engineer. It provides all the basic domestic heating and plumbing training you need to start work in the industry.

This is a top up course that requires you to have completed a Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing. You will also need to be working in the industry fitting bathrooms and also radiators and pipework to heating systems.

The course is completed in the workplace and to pass the course you must be able to demonstrate your plumbing competency by completing a portfolio of evidence of the work you are carrying out.

During your study you will cover a range of knowledge and skills across areas including domestic hot and cold-water systems, central heating systems, sanitation systems, environmental technologies and matters of gas safety.

Core modules: 

  • Understand and carry out safe working practices in building services engineering
  • Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance
  • Understand and apply domestic above ground drainage system installation and maintenance techniques
  • Install and maintain domestic heating systems

To apply for this course you must be employed within the plumbing industry and have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing. 

You will be assessed through a combination of practical assessments, evidence of real-world work, and knowledge tests to demonstrate the your skills and competence in the plumbing trade.

The portfolio must include evidence of your work, such as photos, diagrams, written reports, and statements from employers or mentors.

FE Tuition: £1,995.00 per academic year
