Skill’s you’ll develop:  

  • Creative Thinking – Explore new ideas and approaches to performance and learn how to solve complex problems in imaginative ways. 
  • Analytical Skills – Learn how to research, evaluate and reflect on your work and the work of others to improve your craft.

  • Confidence and Independence – Take ownership of your projects, from initial ideas to final performances, developing self-belief along the way. 
  • Performance Technique – Enhance your acting, movement, and vocal skills, and learn how to adapt them for different audiences and settings.

  • Production Skills – Understand how to plan, produce, and evaluate performances with a professional mindset.

Entry to this course is 4 GCSEs, including GCSE English Language at Grade 4 Maths at Grade 3.  

You’ll also need to complete an audition, so we can see your passion and potential for performing arts. 

For this qualification, you will complete the following assessments: 

  • Live performances and production projects
  • Creative portfolios and ongoing scrapbook work
  • Written reflections and evaluations of your understanding of performing arts theory and context 

This course is built around real-world projects and creative briefs. Your final major project will be externally moderated by University of the Arts London (UAL), giving your work industry-level recognition. 

Gain hands-on experience in real-life industry settings! For this course you will complete compulsory work experience and enrichment opportunities, where you’ll dive into the world of work and gain the skills employers are looking for. You will:
  • Get hands-on and work on real projects. 
  • Boost your confidence and learn how to plan tasks, meet deadlines, and make smart decisions.
  • Collaborate with professionals and see how great ideas come to life when people work together. 
  • Understand how to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
  • Be part of a workplace that values diversity and promotes equality.
With this, you’ll have hands-on experience to showcase on your CV, showing your industry skills to employers. Our links include but are not limited to – The Royal Shakespeare Company, Dance United, and Bradford Council. 

After completing this course, you’ll be ready to pursue:    

  • Degrees in Performing Arts, Acting, Theatre Production, or Musical Theatre 
  • Higher Apprenticeships in the creative industries, such as technical theatre, media production, or cultural arts support. 
  • Roles such as Actor (stage, screen, or voice), Dancer, Musical Theatre Performer, or Director or Assistant Director.
