Future Technologies Centre
Work on the purpose-built Future Technologies Centre building will begin following the demolition of Junction Mills and surveys by appointed contractor Morgan Sindall.
The project was made possible thanks to £15m funding from the Department for Education’s Further Education Capital Transformation Fund (FECTF), secured in October 2022 and boosted by a £2m College contribution.
The Future Technologies Centre will be the new home of modern automotive and digital engineering curricula, such as electric/hybrid vehicles and advanced manufacturing. Our Automotive and Digital Engineering Department will relocate from Bowling Back Lane to the new premises once completed.
When on site, students will use cutting-edge industry-relevant facilities to gain skills in new technologies, preparing them for careers in a fast-moving sector. The Centre will be vital in supporting the growth of technology and low-carbon skills capability within West Yorkshire.
