Bradford College is dedicated to developing green skills among its students and staff.

These skills are essential for addressing environmental challenges, transitioning to renewable energy sources, and promoting sustainable practices across various industries.

The College is committed to integrating green skills education across its curriculum and campus. Bradford College will empower students to acquire the knowledge, competencies, and values needed to address environmental challenges and contribute to a sustainable future in the following areas.

Renewable energy technologies

The successful purchase of three solar energy training bays, thanks to funding from UK Government and through the Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) at Trinity Green Campus for all electrical students to benefit from.

The bays will teach the skills and knowledge in order to successfully install and maintain electric vehicle charging points, underfloor heating systems, underground heat pumps and solar panel technologies including fault finding panels.

Green Building and Construction

Education in green building and construction focuses on designing and constructing environmentally friendly buildings and infrastructure. Students learn about sustainable building materials, energy-efficient design principles, and green building certification standards such as LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

By providing hands-on learning experiences, the College aims to instill a culture of environmental responsibility and innovation. Overall, green skills education plays an important role in preparing students to contribute to a sustainable future by equipping them with the knowledge, competencies, and values needed to thrive in a green economy.
