Bradford College partners with College of Esports

Bradford College is delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with College of Esports (CoEs).

The new partnership will see our two organisations work together to create opportunities and engagement activities for Bradford College students, paving genuine routes into Esports careers. As well as this, the partnership will see the CoEs provide resourses, guidance, and expertise to support the development of Esports & Games programmes at Bradford College.

Upon signing the partnership agreement, Gail Holmes (Head of Health Sciences, Meditech & Technology) said: “This partnership is the icing on the cake for Esports at Bradford College. Students are able to see routes to a purpose-built institution, which is a specialist in the area. There’s no better accolade for Esports at Higher Education level.

“We were relatively new to Esports, so curriculum enhancement such as this is highly valuable to Bradford College. Our students have already visited the College in London and we’ve had various CoEs experts come and deliver to students in return. It helps to have an external partner telling students about progression options available after our courses, and the beauty of Esports is that it provides a wide range of academic and social skills which employers want, such as business acumen and teamwork. When students are given real-life examples of what they can do with their qualification, it’s incredibly exciting.”

Work Experience Officer, Katie Priestley (pictured right), added: “The partnership will broaden the experiences available to our students. Having such a reputable, specialist organisation available to work with our students gives them extra insight into where they can go once qualified.”

The College of Esports itself is a Higher Education institution, which focuses on delivering the business of Esports. Based in London, the College is the world’s first educational institution holding an exclusive university-level partnership with the British Esports Federation – the UK’s governing body for Esports.

By combining impressive facilities at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Velodrome with strong Esports industry links, the College is able to provide students with the best academic experience possible. Through this new partnership, Bradford College students will now also be able to benefit from this expertise in an ever-expanding, global industry.

Professor Philip Wilson (Chair of the Board, College of Esports) commented: “We are very proud to be partnering with Bradford College. This partnership will create a visible and structured pathway for students to progress from school-level education to university-level. We want to create employable, mature, and balanced young people who, through this education pathway, will be empowered in life.”

According to statistics from The Independent, it’s been forecasted that worldwide Esports market revenue will reach around $1.87bn by 2025.

As the industry continues to grow at a staggering pace, there’s never been a better time to gain an Esports qualification and open up career routes across all manner of sectors.
