Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund
If you are aged 19+ and are funding a Further Education course with an Advanced Learner Loan, and live in a household with a gross annual income of £48,000 or less, you may be eligible for financial support.
You may be able to receive assistance with the cost of travel to and from college in the form of payments. You may also be eligible for course-related costs, and these will be assessed on a case by case basis.
If you are aged 20 or over, you may be able to receive support for childcare fees for timetabled hours, up to the cost of £50.00 per day. This provides support for the cost of childcare, nursery deposits and registration fees and more with an OFSTED-registered provider.
The Advanced Learner Loan is for people aged 19 and over who want to complete a Level 3 or 4 course. You can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with the costs of your course, and the loan can cover all or part of your tuition fees.
You will need to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan or pay your fees independently:
- If you are aged 19 or above and you already have a full Level 3 qualification.
- If you are aged 19 or above and studying a Level 4 qualification.
Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund
The bursary fund for Advanced Learner Loan students aged 19 and over with a household income of less than £30,000 is part of the Learner Support Fund.
It’s a grant, so you don’t have to pay it back.
It’s to help pay for things like:
- books, uniform
- travel costs
- childcare
You must attend your classes to meet the attendance criteria of the bursary. If your attendance drops below 85% you may lose your grant.
